Vista might leave XP's restore points alone. That would make some sense as Vista knows about XP and XP does not know about Vista and apparently too much work for MS to fix XP to leave Vista alone. I finally decided, to get another hard drive, and purchase Vista Ultimate retail full version, and install the 64 bit version to run in a dual boot environment , with my XP Pro 32 bit, leaving the XP Pro as my main primary OS for a while. is been the startup file configuration ever since WinNT4.0, at least; that's where I started dual-booting, first with Win95, which I quickly upgraded to Win98. I re-installed XP Home to it's old partition and it boots and I can access everything from there, but I need to restore the XP 64 boot option.

If i just let the system boot untouched, it just goes straight into XP. If I want to get into Vista 64, then I just hit escape and tell it to boot from that third sata hard drive first in priority, then it boots into Vista 64. I think the beauty of it this way, is Vista is not away of the XP bootloader,

Hey gang, Have been messing around with Vista 64 bit Ultimate since getting installed yesterday to dual boot with XP Pro. Parts of it are pretty neat, parts will take me some getting used to. I use Executive Software Diskeeper, in my XP Pro install. I can use it to defrage the drive my Vista install is on as well.

Hey gang, Just curious, anyone dual booting , say XP Pro and Vista, and have one copy of FSX installed and running on both OS's? Can this be done, I have XP on one drive and Vista on the second drive.. A copy of FSX on each drive / system. I mostly boot into Vista now. XP just for my accounting program.
